IAAF and LKQ Euro Car Parts Team Up for Prestigious Ceremony

The Automechanika Birmingham Garage Awards 2024, in partnership with the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF), is gearing up to celebrate the cream of the crop in the automotive servicing industry. LKQ Euro Car Parts steps up as the headline sponsor for the second consecutive year, promising an event that shines a spotlight on the outstanding achievements within the UK and Ireland’s garage sector.

A Bigger, Better Celebration

Scheduled for Wednesday, 5th June, at the UK Garage and Bodyshop Event at NEC, Birmingham, the awards are building on the success of the previous year, expanding the categories from eight to ten. This expansion reflects the industry’s dynamic growth and the exceptional level of service and expertise found in independent garages nationwide, highlighting their crucial role in maintaining affordable mobility.

Open Nominations and Industry-wide Support

Garages, workshops, and technicians who exemplify the highest standards of the profession are encouraged to submit their nominations, seizing the opportunity to be recognized for their hard work and dedication. LKQ Euro Car Parts reinforces its commitment to the aftermarket sector, not only by supporting the awards but also by featuring prominently at the event with an array of training initiatives, prizes, and expert talks.

Kevan Wooden, LKQ UK and Ireland’s Group Chief Executive, expressed enthusiasm for the event, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging best practices within the garage community. He highlighted the industry’s commitment to delivering top-notch service and value, underscoring the significance of celebrating these achievements.

IAAF’s Ongoing Advocacy and Support

The IAAF continues its staunch support for the independent garage sector, advocating for fair access to crucial data and maintaining a strong stance on key issues such as Block Exemption Regulations and the annual MOT test. Mark Field, IAAF Chief Executive, praised the growing network of members and the federation’s role in amplifying their voices within the industry.

The event will feature an expanded list of award categories, including the introduction of the ‘Content Creator Award’ and the ‘Young-Mechanik of the Year’ for 2024, alongside established accolades like ‘Garage of the Year’ and ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’. The awards aim to showcase the diverse talents and contributions of the automotive aftermarket community.
